Abortion Counter

About The Abortion Counter

I created this website to bring awareness to the innocent lives that are being taken every day in the United States and to call on you to join me in praying for these children, for their fathers and mothers, and for an end to this horrible institution. 🙏

I welcome your feedback and requests. If you're looking for specific abortion data and just not finding it, let me know. As you can see, I've already shown abortion stats thus far this year, but I've also broken it down by race. And I've shown how many abortions have occurred so far today and so far this hour. I will consider showing this same data but perhaps in different ways (i.e. abortions by state, etc). Let me know what you need.

About The Numbers

As for the numbers, you should first know that there is no official source for abortion statistics. The only government body that tallies these numbers is the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But their numbers are reported voluntarily by each state (though not necessarily every state and not necessarily on a regular basis). And some cities (i.e. New York and Washington) tally their own abortion statistics. There is no federal requirement that each abortion is reported.

The Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion organization, is also a known source for abortion statistics. They are a private organization that gets their numbers by contacting abortion facilities directly. Because of this more focused approach, some say that their numbers are more accurate than those from the CDC.

The bottom line is that we don't know how many abortions are performed. For purposes of this website, I use the average of last three available years from the Guttmacher Institute. But let me be clear. Regardless of the source of my data, if there were only one abortion, that's way too many.

About Me

I'm a prolife Catholic, a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in De Pere, Wisconsin and a third degree knight in the Abbot Pennings Council #3955 of the Knights of Columbus, also in De Pere, Wisconsin.

I'm also the host of the "Rosary Garden", a weekly video podcast of rosary prayer sessions. I pray the rosary along with many fellow Catholics live every Monday evening.

"I encourage you to carry forward the fine tradition of the Knights of Columbus and, inspired by your Catholic faith, to continue your strenuous efforts for the pro-life cause. I urge Catholics to continue to make your voices heard in the formulation of cultural, economic, political and legislative projects which defend and enhance human life."
